Ruby Rose stopped from Twitter following the reaction to being the first gay superhero to lead the series
Rose Casting marked the first LGBTQ superhero to lead the live-action series, with the Batwoman series premiere on the network in 2019, focusing on Kate Kane: first created by DC Comics in the 1950s as a love interest for Batman, before being reintroduced in the year 2006 as a gay woman of Jewish descent.

The criticism imposed on Rose was partly targeted at casting non-Jewish actors in the role; But it seems that Rose's Twitter account may have been specifically motivated by accusations that she should not play lesbian characters - even though the actor has been out since the age of 12.
"Where on earth 'Ruby is not a lesbian then she can't be Batwoman' comes from - it must be the funniest funny thing I've ever read," Rose wrote in her last post on Twitter. "I'm out at 12? And for the past five years I have to deal with 'he's too gay' how do you turn it like that? I haven't changed. I hope we will all support each other and our journey."
