The day after the news broke that Melanie "Mel B" Brown was heading for recovery for PTSD and other issues, the singer's friend told PEOPLE that reports that she was seeking help for alcohol and sex addiction were "all lies."
At the weekend, Brown told The Sun that he planned to get treatment, with his friend, Rusty Updegraff telling the outlet that he was "sex crazy" (sleeping with three men a day) and abusing alcohol. However, his son Gary Madatyan told PEOPLE that the former Spice Girl was "good".
"Yes, he has some problems he does, but it's an emotional problem that comes from everything he experiences with his divorce. It's not a drug or sex addiction at all," Madatyan said, adding that Brown was "not a sex addict."
