BBC radio presenter Vicki Archer dies suddenly aged 41

Archer worked for BBC Radio Shropshire for over 20 years, and hosted the station's popular afternoon drivetime program alongside fellow presenter Adam Green since 2010.

His death was announced on the air by Eric Smith.  "Our much loved colleague, Vicki Archer, who has been part of an afternoon in this radio station for eight years, had died suddenly, " said.

"She's a great presenter, a broadcaster, and he brings a wonderful sense of fun to point and rear space news too. "

He had previously worked at century FM, Magic radio network and radio station The Pulse of West Yorkshire.

 "We gutted on the death of Vicki, " David Jennings, corporate Chair of the regional programmes for the West Midlands to the BBC.  "Everyone here on Radio Shropshire respect him as a great presenter and reporter, but much more than that we love the sense of fun he brought to the show and the station. "

In a statement, his family said:  "Vicki is more fond of girls and mothers as well as being a very talented broadcasters. We are still coming to terms with the tragic loss so will ask that people respect our privacy and leave us alone to grieve as a family.  "

Listeners, friends and colleagues, including her co-host Adam Green, have shared their tributes and condolences on Twitter.
